Agent of the Month - August 2007

Well done Wardonkey for taking the first AotM award. And with quizking just a whisker behind it looks like this season is already shaping up as another battle between these two giants of FFA.

Notable mentions have to go to rigby and new_matt who both managed to post scores in excess of 1000 points.

A new month starts tomorrow, a chance to put August behind you and make a fresh bid to be next month's AotM.

September top tips: The transfer window closes tonight so it might be a good time to rid yourself of those players who aren't going to be the subject of further speculation. Also England play some crucial qualifiers this month, so be on the look out for fringe England players who'll be breaking through thanks to the every growing injury list.

England 0 Real Madrid 2

Just when it gets to the stage where you're thinking "is the transfer window still open?" up pop Real Madrid, who open up their wallet and liberate two world class players from the so-called Best League in the World.

Heinze's move rightly sees him top the table ahead of the big names from last night's headline makers from the England v Germany game. Robben's move wasn't confirmed until later, so expect more from him tomorrow.

Both players will, of course be leaving the game next Tuesday.

The table looks like it'll be very tight for our first Agent of the Month competition. Rigby managed to dislodge regular table topper Wardonkey mid-month but has yet to build a lead. With new_matt and FFA champion quizking breathing down their necks it promises to go down to the final day.

It's the boots!

If our scoring computer Zen throws up a 14 point score for someone, I usually put the greasy overalls on and check under the bonnet to see if he hasn't had one of his "turns". But when it's Wayne Rooney breaking his foot again it doesn't really come as a shock.

The boy wonder's latest metatarsal bust piles on the points for those of you who have shelled out handsomely for him. Hold on to him - he'll be getting 8+ almost every day for the next month and a half.

Transfer Tuesday sees one in and one out. Hello Michael Chopra, goodbye Lomana Lualua.

It's over

Carlos Tevez has finally signed for Manchester United. If this transfer story follows the way of Ashley Cole's his value should slowly start to go down within the next few weeks - or maybe not, Manchester United players always tend to be expensive.

The weekend should provide plenty of points for everyone - even those not playing. If you make a change today you should be able to cash in on Sunday's points.

Players values changed again today, almost universally upwards. Our points computer, Zen has obviously seen the points flooding in and thinks you were getting them far too cheap. This could mean you have some extra budget to play around with. Use it, it does you no good just sitting there.

What's the deal with the stars?

I'm introducing a new scheme to help you get the most out of playing the game, it's a sort of reward scheme which I hope to get off the ground next week.

Care in the Community

It may have the status of pre-season kickabout but the official curtain raiser for the season has heaped the points on Chelsea and Manchester United players.

New boy Florent Malouda took the top place with a stonking 11, the other goalscorer Ryan Giggs with penalty hero Edwin van der Sar just a point behind with three others - two of which didn't even play!

It's a good example of how this game is different from your normal ho-hum fantasy football game. If you had John Terry in your team you'd be rejigging your team right now, but in FFA a month on the sidelines for the England skipper is absolute gold.

You may notice on the players stat page that James Beattie has *OUT* where his club should be. This is because he has left the premiership and so also leaves the game. Players enter and leave the game on Tuesday, so if you have him in your portfolio, you'll have a little extra cash in your budget tomorrow.

That is, of course, if he doesn't do a Hossam Ghaly.
